Second wave non-pharmaceutical intervention responses

Over the last couple of months there have been different approaches adopted by the four nations within the UK to combat the second wave of COVID-19 infections. In this bulletin we explore whether the difference in approach enable us to demonstrate the relative effectiveness of restrictions. We conclude that all restrictions, with the exception of Tier 1, have a material beneficial impact on rates but that duration and behaviour before and after restriction can alter effectiveness.
